How to Edit and Delete Prompts

Introduction

The SyncWin Copilot allows users to create, manage, and optimize custom prompts for AI chatbots. As your library of prompts grows, you may find the need to edit or delete prompts to maintain efficiency and relevance. This article will guide non-technical users on how to easily edit and delete prompts within the SyncWin Copilot.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • The SyncWin Copilot extension is installed in your Chrome browser.
  • A collection of saved prompts in your library that you wish to edit or delete.

Instructions

Step 1: Open the SyncWin Copilot

  • Click on the SyncWin Copilot icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the extension.

Step 2: Access Your Prompt Library

  • Once the extension is open, navigate to the prompt library section where all your saved prompts are displayed.

Step 3: Edit a Prompt

  • Hover over the prompt you wish to edit. You will see options appear for editing, deleting, or exporting the prompt.
  • Click on the edit button with a pencil icon just below the prompt title and description.
  • Make your desired changes in the prompt editor window that appears.
  • Click “Save” to apply your changes.

Step 4: Delete a Prompt

  • To delete a prompt, hover over the prompt item again and locate the delete button with a trash can icon.
  • Click on the delete button. A confirmation pop-up will appear asking if you are sure you want to delete the prompt.
  • Confirm by clicking “OK” in the pop-up. If you change your mind, click “Cancel” to keep the prompt.

Step 5: Bulk Delete Prompts (Optional)

  • If you want to delete multiple prompts at once, check the box next to each prompt you wish to delete. You can also click the “Select All” checkbox above the list of prompts.
  • Once selected, click on the “Delete” button that becomes enabled.
  • Confirm the deletion in the pop-up as described above.

Tips and Warnings

  • Tip: Regularly review your saved prompts and remove any that are outdated or no longer needed. This helps keep your library organized and efficient.
  • Warning: Once a prompt is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Ensure that you only delete prompts that you are certain you no longer need. Additionally, we are planning to add edit and delete features on the Editor, Composer, and Settings pages as well, which is on our roadmap.

Troubleshooting/FAQs

  • Q: What if I accidentally delete a prompt?
    • A: Unfortunately, deleted prompts cannot be restored. It’s a good practice to back up important prompts before deletion.
  • Q: Why can’t I see the edit or delete options?
    • A: Ensure that you are hovering over the correct prompt. If options do not appear, try refreshing the extension or checking for updates.
